Designer Ice Cream
July is National Ice Cream Month, and the cherry on top is July 20th, National Ice Cream Day! To celebrate this, I did what any true fashionista would do: bought the Dooney and Bourke Snow Cone Satchel. It was close enough to designer ice cream.

It was only right that this cutie accompanied me to Kilwins Chicago, located on the famous Magnificent Mile. I thought they would find my new bag pretty cool (which they did!), but I was equally blown away when I walked in. Here I was, expecting a cutesy little ice cream shop. What I got was a smorgasbord of ice cream, candy, malts, and all sorts of sugary treats! You name it, they had it. Sort of like a modern day Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory-ish.

The ice cream was was absolutely dreamy! My family faves were Cookies & Cream, Marshmallow S’mores, and Cappuccino Chocolate Chip! Can you see the chocolate thread there? Mommy is certainly a chocoholic, and the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Next time, I’m trying the malt. Maybe I can find a cute poodle skirt to wear for that visit…
If you haven’t been able to get out to your local ice creamery, now worries! I got you covered. I reached out to my good friend, Gina, who’s also a trained Chef, to bless us with an ice cream recipe anyone can make from the comfort of their home. Chileeee, she certainly delivered! No only did she supply the recipe, she also made sure that it was no-churn! (Yep, she’s that chick!) So, no ice cream machine necessary. Follow Gina on Instagram @gldephil and her company, At Your Table. Be sure to contact her for your catering needs via email atyourtablecs@gmail.com, and more yummy recipes. She’s the best! You’re welcome.

Vanilla No Churn Ice Cream
Ingredients:
One 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste. If you are unable to find vanilla bean paste, vanilla extract will work in place.
2 cups heavy cream, cold
Pinch fine salt
Optional:
Add your favorite mix-ins to this delicious vanilla base!
Some of my favorites include:
• Chopping up candy bars – Snickers & Reese’s are great in this!
• Cookies & Cream is always a favorite. Just add some Oreos
• Coconut flakes, chocolate and almonds might be my absolute favorite!
Directions:
1. Place a 9 x 5 x 3-inch metal loaf pan into the freezer for a minimum of 1 hour.
2. Whisk together the condensed milk, vanilla, and salt in a large bowl; set aside for later use.
3. Whip the cream with a mixer on medium-high speed until firm peaks form, about 2 minutes.
4. Fold about 1 cup of the whipped cream into the first mixture of condensed milk, vanilla, and salt. Mix with a rubber spatula until combined, then fold the lightened mixture into the whipped cream until well blended.
5. Pour into the chilled metal loaf pan, and freeze, covered, until thick and creamy, like soft serve, about 2 hours.
6. Optional step: swirl in any desired mix-ins with a spoon or spatula.
7. Continue to freeze, covered, until solid and scoopable, about 3 hours more.
8. Be sure to top with SPRINKLES!
