My Go-To Accessories

A real (quick) guide to the modern woman’s daily accessories.

Ladies… By now, you know I keep it all the way real with you, right? So, why would anything change at this point? Let’s talk accessories. Not those cutesy accessories that most of have, like earrings and bracelets, etc. But those pieces that us busy moms and entrepreneurs wear everyday. You know, our go-to pieces we grab without any thought to it. They’ve become like second skin. We put these things on our shopping lists, ensuring that we never run out. Those pieces! Yep. I have a few that I put on before I run out the house, sometimes before I even leave my bedroom. And no worries, remember? This is a judge-free zone. I’ll go first. You can leave your fave accessories in the comment box below.

The Lace-front Bob Wig.

My Wig. My lace-front Bob-cut wig is a staple. This wig is universal. It looks good on literally everyone, and goes well with everything. Going to court? Grab the bob wig. Instantly professional. Night out with the new bae? Grab Bob. She’s chic and fly. Running errands for your budding empire? Boooooooobbbbb!!! She’s ready for any surprise run-in with that ex or old friends from high school. Old faithful, she is.

Round-lens sunglasses courtesy of H & M.

My Sunglasses. I all about my sunglasses, owning over 20 pairs. These are great when my (nonexistent) eyebrows are not on point. These tend to lend a certain cool it-girl aesthetic to whatever I throw on with it. Instant chic.

Charming Charlie Fedora.

My Charming Charlie Straw Fedora. When I know It’s going to be a long day in the heat, or I want to effortlessly elevate my simple outfit (I.e. I’m too lazy and don’t feel like putting a lot of effort into creating a masterpiece of an outfit), I grab one of my fedoras. I have several of them, using the straw textures for summer. It quickly polished up my maxie dresses, distressed jeans, and rompers. A no-brainer.

Inexpensive Bulk Eyelashes.

My Eyelashes. I buy them by the bulk. A constant on my shopping list, right under milk and bread. Eyelashes can instantly brighten up your face. With them, you almost don’t need earrings or a necklace. Almost.

A vintage watch.

My Vintage Watch. I love my watch. It’s over 80 years old, made in Germany. I was fortunate to discover it at a secondhand shop for less that $5.00. The battery was dead, so I took it to a clock repair shop where they replaced the battery, and it’s been good as new. You can guarantee to see it in almost every picture I take. And it’s great when you’re now allowed phone usage, but still need to know how long until you can get back to your phone. It may not be an Apple Watch, but it gets the job done.

Marc Jacobs Lipstick.

My Marc Jacobs Lipstick. I love Marc Jacobs beauty! If you want to foray into designer makeup for the first time, Marc Jacobs is a great place to start. It’s decently affordable, and if you’re lucky, you can catch it at Marshall’s, or on sale at Sephora. The nude and mahogany lipsticks are my daily faves. And they keep my lips moisturized for hours. Thank me later.
