Black Certainly is King!

Happy Black is King Day! It’s finally here! Queen Beyoncé has released yet another visual album. This time courtesy of Disney Plus. It is her reimagined version of the Lion King. And it is packed full of astounding imagery, and powerful inspirational messages. It is everything we never knew we needed.
When I woke up this morning, the first thing that came to mind was that this is the last day of the #mjconsistencychallenge, and that ‘Black is King’ has been released. What a start to my weekend! As this chapter ends ( July, the blog challenge, our somewhat summer), I am excited for what tomorrow brings (August, a new day, a new challenge, transitional clothing, fall-preview styles). I can’t help but to feel a true sense of pride with my blog. It has embodied all of my spirit, and passion. It is a digital testament to what I can do, accomplish, when a little pressure is applied. It made a diamond. A Black diamond.
As I write my final post for the month, I also want to say thank you. Thank you to each and every set of eyes that landed upon it. Reading. Internally critiquing. Laughing. Hating. It’s all good. It all makes me better. That’s the thing about this Black Girl Magic. It makes you incredibly resilient. Life can knock you down (and believe me, it will). But it’s all in how you get back up. And this Blackness makes it a graceful fall and recovery.
Please continue to follow along on this journey of mine. I try to keep it as transparent as possible, while remaining true to myself. How is that even possible? Because Black is King, of course.
