Make Labor Day Weekend the New (York) Fashion Week

It’s hard to believe that Labor Day is right around the corner. The Clippers May have America’s attention, however us fashionistas are planning for our next fashion escapade. Though 2020 has been a doozie, at this point, we are all looking for any reason to get dressed (especially in cute clothing), and leave the living room. What better excuse than a holiday? And with every major holiday comes great sales, just in time to get the perfect look for the weekend. Here, we’re going to break down the outfits by day and activity. Let’s begin, shall we?

LondonHouse Rooftop Bar, Chicago.

Saturday. Nothing says bougie like a rooftop bar. Everything about it is on another level (literally and figuratively), and your look has to match it. Think chic, posh, with a hint of sexy. Something soft, feminine, and flowy is ideal, as you want to allow for the summer breeze to easily move through the fabric. You also want to consider something light and comfy, keeping in mind that your going to outside and elevated (closet to the sun), so it will be warmer. In addition, you will probably be there for several hours (because, come on, it’s a rooftop bar, who’s leaving early).

Cute, flowy romper with a beautiful, feminine floral print.

Saturday Night. After an afternoon of social distancing socializing, of course you have to stop by the family backyard bbq for a plate. And in order to do so, the cutesy rooftop outfit is not going to suffice. This calls for a more rugged, highstreet fit that can sustain sitting on stoops, porches, grass, bbq sauce, and the occasional red cup spill. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Denim, right? Yep.

No need for run-of-the-mill denim shorts. Make a splash at the family bbq in these!

Sunday’s are for brunch. And Labor Day Weekend is no different. This holiday weekend, be sure to unofficially mark the end of summer in a beautiful Instagram-worthy ensemble. There’s very few things that leaves a impression like a gorgeous kimono. It’s perfect for covering up that invisible 5 pounds you think you gained last night from for uncle’s famous bbq, mac and cheese, and bake beans. But it was sooooooo worth it!

Grass-Fields Natalie Kimono Top. $34.00

Even though Monday is Labor Day, the last thing you want to do is work! With all of the weekend activities, the only thing left to do is to lay on somebody’s boat, on some beautiful waterfront. And since you’ve been absolutely fabulous all weekend, you can’t let the people down now. Oh no, sis. Go out with a bang in a breathtaking swimsuit and the matching coverup. No worries, I’ve got you covered.
